2020-2021シーズンからフランス・トップ14のクレルモン・オーヴェルニュでプレーし、レギュラーの座をつかんだ。しなやかな走りとハイボールキャッチで信頼される。同チームではキック力も伸ばした。欧州ラグビー最優秀選手候補にもノミネートされる高評価。 Kotaro started playing for French League, Top 14, with the team, ASM Clermont Auvergne during the 2020-2021 season and earned a regular place in the starting line-up. He is known for his consistently speedy breakthroughs and his ball catching skills but has also improved his kicking skills during his time in France. He is highly regarded as a player and was nominated European Player of the Year for 2021.
